Robert L. Hosie, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 12th, in Abilene. He was born September 27, 1938 in Minter, Kansas, the son of Richard and Pricilla (Elliot) Hosie. Growing up in Kansas, Robert attended local schools and graduated from Enterprise High School. He had been employed by Ehrsam Manufacturing for thirty eight years in Enterprise until it closed in the assembly shop and the Heritage Center in Abilene. Robert married Joyce Provance December 20, 1959. Most all of their married life was spent on a farm south of Abilene. He is preceded in death by: his parents; son, James Hosie; granddaughter, Sam Hosie and two sisters, Dorothy Lovett and Alice Vogt.
Robert is survived by: wife, Joyce Hosie of Abilene; daughter, Cindy (Richard) Middleton of Carlton; son Tim Hosie of Abilene; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family has chosen cremation.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, March 18th, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Stanger officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday March 17th at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Robert L. Hosie Memorial Fund.
