Terry Ann Brown, age 68, of Westmoreland, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday February 6, 2019 at her home in Westmoreland.
She was born on March 20, 1950 in Manhattan, the daughter of Irwin and Lorraine (Brinker) Leonard. She attended schools in Manhattan and St. George.
On May 27, 1967 she was united in marriage to John Brown. He survives at their home in Westmoreland.
Terry worked for Kansas State University and later for Orscheln Farm and Home for a period of time until she retired.
Terry was a strong, tough and brave woman. She always was there to take care of her family and it was her life to be the most supportive wife, mother, grandmother and sister that she could be. She devoted her life to being the utmost loving mother of 4, and a dedicated wife from high school sweethearts to 52 years of marriage May 27, 2019.
In addition to her husband John, she survived by her children: Candy George, of Manhattan, Penny Carlson, of Wamego, Damon Brown, of Wamego, and Dustin Brown and his wife Jenny, of Westmoreland; her sisters, Sandra Mathews, of St. George, and Linda Miller, of Topeka; and also her 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeri Slagle and her brother, Art Leonard.
Memorial Services for Terry will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 15, 2019 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel in Manhattan, with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating. Private Inurnment will be held at a later date.
