The traffic signal at McCall Road and Hostetler Drive in Manhattan has been damaged by a private utility company while expanding their telecommunications network.
A civil design engineer for the city of Manhattan Peter Clark said city traffic crews have turned off the traffic signal because of only partial power to the traffic signal indicators. The intersection should be treated as an All Way Stop until the signal is operational. Stop signs have been installed on all four legs of the intersection for notification to drivers.
City crews are attempting to make repairs as quickly as possible to restore power and the communications with sensors to the traffic signal. Motorists are being urged to use additional caution while traveling through the intersection.
